Kuruba Dog Kennels Stirling

Dog kennels near me

Our kennels are located within the gardens and grounds of our family home, so we try and create a laidback holiday vibe where possible to all of our guests. The majority of our guests are regulars who get as excited to see us as we are to see them! We find this makes a big difference for most new dogs when they arrive as it helps them to settle in quicker if the atmosphere in general is trusting and relaxed.

That said, we are the first to admit that a kennel environment is not always suitable for every dog. If they are very elderly, have poor health, severe separation anxiety or are aggressive or destructive at home, then for their own well-being, our kennels is not the right place for them.

We can’t guarantee in advance that your dog will be well suited and happy to stay in our kennels as they are all unique personalities. However, we will always do our best to find out what helps them relax and feel secure whether its playing fetch, longer time spent sniffing the trail or just chilling out in the garden with one of us!

We don't expect you just to take our word for it - we will let some of our adorable friends do the talking for us!

Woodland Walks & Fully Enclosed Doggy Play Areas

boarding kennels near me

All of our dogs have twice daily 1 to 1 on-the-lead woodland walks to explore nature. The adjacent woodland is full of exciting wildlife, squirrels, rabbits and deer are often to be found on the trail.

We are also fortunate enough to have 2 secure (2m & 3m high fenced) off lead play areas which is perfect for a good old run around and for playing fetch. We will never mix dogs from different households to ensure your dog’s safety and provide the individual attention they deserve.

Up to date Vaccinations Certificates are compulsory

As a licensed and insured boarding kennels, we are only permitted to accept fully vaccinated dogs that are currently vaccinated against the following: distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis and parvovirus and parainfluenza.

The kennel cough vaccination is also required. Your dog must have this at least 2 weeks prior to boarding at our kennels if they have not already had it within the previous 12 months. This is NOT part of your annual booster vaccination. If you are in any doubt, contact us or your vet to discuss. Kennel Cough vaccines can usually be identified on your vaccination card / certificate as ‘Intrac’ (which lasts for 6 months) or ‘Nobivac KC’ (which lasts for 12 months).

If your dog has never been vaccinated before or their vaccinations have lapsed by too much time, your dog will need two boosters given two to 4 weeks apart as recommended by your vet before they can stay with us. Before each stay you need to check that there is enough time remaining before their next booster is due to cover their entire stay.

Food and Medication Info

All the dogs are fed twice a day. Within our family, some of us have food intolerances and two very fussy senior horses so we totally understand that lots of pets have sensitive stomachs, special diets or are fussy eaters and therefore need to stay on their own diet which we highly recommend you bring with you – we have fridge and freezer space available also. You must a) bring enough for the duration of the stay and b) it must come in an airtight plastic container/tins with clear instructions.

We also have complimentary food available for your pets if you prefer. For dogs we stock Burgess Hypoallergenic and Burns Sensitive dry food.We are also happy to give your pet their medications, within reason, so long as you discuss with us prior to booking what health conditions they are for and what is involved. All meds must come in the original packaging with clear instructions.

In the kennels we use plastic beds with vet bedding as it works best with our underfloor heating. You are however welcome to bring their toys and a light blanket/old T-shirt that smells of home.

You must bring their up-to-date vaccination certificate and a completed and signed Kuruba registration form which you can download and print out from bellow (and your cat/dog of course!
